Why Pet Portraits?
🐾 The Heart Behind My Pet Portraits
Animals have always been at the center of my life. From working in the veterinary field to caring for exotic species as a zookeeper, I’ve built a career around understanding creatures great and small. But my connection to animals goes beyond science or training—it’s rooted in empathy. I feel their emotions deeply, their joy, their pain, and their quiet presence in ways that words can’t always capture.
That sensitivity is what inspires every brushstroke of my pet portraits. I don’t just paint likenesses—I aim to reveal the soul of each animal, the spark in their eyes, the tenderness in their gestures, and the love they share with the humans in their lives.
My own pets have carried me through some of my hardest seasons, offering comfort and healing as I’ve navigated C-PTSD, depression, and GAD. Their unconditional love has been a lifeline, and that devotion seeps onto the canvas. Each painting is both a tribute and a thank-you to the animals who give us so much.
With my unique vision shaped by tetrachromia, I explore a wider range of colors than most people can see. This allows me to bring out subtle tones and dimensions that highlight not just how your pet looks, but how they feel.
Every portrait is more than a piece of art—it’s a celebration of the profound bond between humans and animals, a bond that enriches our wellness and our world.
